Our foundation

Why enset and kocho matter

Enset is deeply connected to the food culture and resilience of southern Ethiopia. Haiti Food Innovation ET works to improve the consistency, convenience and market readiness of enset-derived ingredients and foods, while respecting traditional knowledge and applying disciplined quality controls.

  • Value addition for kocho and bulla, from raw material to packaged product
  • Composite flours that pair enset with teff, wheat, oat and barley
  • Sourcing relationships with rural, women-led supplier enterprises around Bonga

Research with responsibility

Evidence first, claims second

Our research programme focuses on safer and more repeatable processing, rapid-preparation foods, composite flours, fermentation, packaging, shelf life and scalable local production. Product claims are made only when the relevant formula, process and package are supported by appropriate evidence, including independent results from an accredited external laboratory.
